10 Spring & Summer Nail Trends You Should Try

Every year, when the drudgery of winter begins to lift, we look to the brighter, warmer days ahead and as a result (if you are anything like myself), your entire life must be rearranged to follow suit. From cleaning and revamping our wardrobes to ditching the snacks that seemed like the only thing that would get us through those incredibly short days and insufferably long winter nights—spring feels like finally being able to exhale after months of holding our breath.

When the sun starts to grace us with her presence for longer and more consistent periods, not only do my wardrobe and eating habits begin to change, but so does my upkeep. While we can get away with less-than-ideal grooming habits in the winter due to the layers, gloves, and snow boots, spring is the ideal time to step it up a few notches and display your personal sense of style and creativity—not only with your wardrobe but with your nail care as well.

One of the most fun ways that I’ve been inspired to show off my creativity has been through my manicures. So if you’re like me and you like to keep a running mood board for nail looks, keep reading to find 10 of the best spring-worthy (and Pinterest-approved, let's be honest) nail trends below!

Minimal, Dainty Floral Designs

For the minimalists who still love a statement, small, handpainted flowers are an understated yet seasonally appropriate design that packs a “wow” factor.

Colorful French tips

Pastel Rainbows

If springtime comes around and all you can think of is how many different color pastels you can fit into your life, this set is for you. With these soft playful colors on each finger, this set is like always having a bag of skittles on your nails. What exactly could be better than that?

Watercolor

Share your refined artistic eye with the world by incorporating literal art on your nails. This watercolor set is sure to be a compliment magnet as soon as you set foot out the door!

Abstract line work

Create a feminine take on the typically fairly rigid line art trend by starting out with a more freeform, abstract line design and using soft, dainty colors.

Ombre Nails

We all love a good ombre nail look but bring a fun spring flare to the design by using complimentary colors to create a vertical ombre instead of the typical horizontal design.

Colorful Abstract Swirls

Have fun with the negative space trend by creating colorful swirls with spring colors that are sure to grab the eye.

Muted Neutral Color

If you're a lover of neutrals looking for nail inspiration, look no further than this incredibly soft color palette that features complimentary colors on each digit so that you never have to choose which neutral is actually your favorite. You’re welcome!

Two Color French Tips

Another play on the cult-classic french tip, this design provides a dainty option that still catches the eye. Thin lines using bold colors? That’s a winning combination every time.

Indie Design

This fun, colorful mix and match design is for the person who can't make up their minds. However, instead of letting that keep us at the salon for an extra 30 minutes deciding what to do, lean into it. With varying designs and colors on each nail, this set is sure to satisfy even the most indecisive nail art lover.
